Econogas utilizes an indexed fuel surcharge based upon the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. This method closely links fuel surcharges to current fuel prices and adjusts quickly to changes up or down in fuel prices. A fuel surcharge will be triggered only when the price of diesel fuel reaches $1.95. See the table below for the current and historical surcharge rate.

The surcharge amount for Econogas services and deliveries are subject to monthly adjustment based on a rounded average of the regional U.S. on-highway average price for a gallon of diesel fuel. The majority, though not all, of our fleet operates on diesel fuel, therefore the price of diesel is used as an indicator of our fuel costs. The Service Center location that is responsible for the customer account is used to determine the region for pricing purposes.

The Fuel Surcharge fees and associated trigger points are subject to change without notice. If the price of diesel rises above $6.00 or there are changes to the trigger points, the above table will be updated. We reserve the right to adjust our fee without notice during the month if the price of diesel changes by more than 15%.
Fuel surcharge updates
Changes to the Econogas Fuel Surcharges will be applied effective the first Monday of each month. The surcharge will be reflected on your invoice. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month will be available approximately one week before the surcharge is applicable.
