Further information about the Commercial Customer Fuel Surcharge Fee The price of diesel fuel has been consistently rising over the past few years. As a delivery and service company that relies on a fleet of primarily diesel vehicles, we have elected to pass along this increase in cost to our Customers. Instead of raising the price of propane across the board, we opted for an option that passes along only the fuel cost as it impacts us. It is based on the rounded average of the regional U.S. On-Highway Diesel Fuel price as published by the Energy Information Administration. The fee will be applied effective the first Monday of each month. The amount of the surcharge will be published on our Web site at www.econogas.com. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month will be available approximately one week before the surcharge is applicable. The surcharge is only applied when the price of on-highway diesel fuel reaches $1.95 per gallon. If the price falls below that point, the surcharge is waived. This fee will be charged on a per delivery basis, beginning with the November billing cycle. This is a fee that is similar to what other large delivery companies in many different industries charge. Some companies roll their fuel fees into the price they charge for a gallon of propane. Others may include this kind of fee under a generic “service charge” category. We want our Customers to know and understand that this is a separate charge from their propane cost. Even though a small portion of our fleet runs on propane, the majority of our vehicles are diesel-fueled. We cannot charge a different fee or remove the fuel surcharge for a delivery or service because it was performed by one of the vehicles in our fleet that runs on propane. The fee will be charged on every order where a vehicle was used to perform the delivery or service and that delivery or service order had a cost associated with it. The fee will not be charged if the driver skips the order or if the service being done was at no cost. It will also not apply to dock sales, as there is no vehicle involved in performing that order. The fee does not apply to transport orders.
